Crowne Plaza website design
What did we do?
If you want to check out a hotel, what do you do? These days most of us head straight over to Google, search for it and have a good old rummage around the website. We get a feel for the hotel itself and almost straightaway we picture ourselves there and decide if it appeals to our requirements, whatever they may be. Following the overall brand refresh for Crowne Plaza, we were commissioned to design the homepage of the website, which would then be passed on to their internal IT team to build.
A website’s homepage ultimately sets the tone for the rest of the site, it is the introductory handshake to the brand and the Crowne Plaza experience. It had to be on-brand (consistent!), fresh, stylish, straightforward and ahead of the competition. It had to shout ‘Crowne Plaza’ immediately to really portray the brand and what it stands for.
What did we achieve?
At this stage in the Crowne Plaza brand refresh we had created and produced the Crowne Plaza image style and all of the international photo shoots, both of which had provided us with a really solid base for the website design. We displayed a banner on the homepage, which equates to a strong image with the booking module embedded into it. This provides an instant focal point as soon as a potential customer lands on the website.
The page is straightforward and includes various ways of getting in touch with the brand, all highlighted in the signature Crowne Plaza ‘plum’ colour which we carefully selected during the refresh.
We created a web presence that incorporates colour to assist in the navigation and to highlight the most important elements. It is immediately identifiable with the refreshed Crowne Plaza brand. It's simple, easy to use and inviting to potential guests, allowing them to book quickly or get in touch for any required information. Welcome to Crowne Plaza!
