MSLT website design and build
What did we do?
MSLT have 19 leisure centres across Manchester and each has different facilities, timetables and services. They host multiple events throughout the year across all of the centres and this complexity required a considered, functional and thorough website design. Of course, it also had to look on-brand, fresh and stylish.
We wanted to ensure that visitors would be able to click from the home page directly to a specific leisure centre, facility or event, making for a seamless visitor experience. We had to provide an intuitive and straightforward website that provides all of the required information quickly and easily. It was essential to design and develop an easy-to-update, flexible content management system given that special offers, events and timetables constantly need to be updated.
The new website design had to reflect the new MSLT brand and the ethos of the business, and we certainly had to incorporate the shiny, new (Pixel8 created) brand logo and strapline ‘From Grassroots to Greatness’.
What did we achieve?
The website became an instant hit, driving interest and increased visits to each of the trust’s 19 leisure centres. The website quickly became listed in Google’s natural listings and this helped to raise awareness of the trust and its leisure centre facilities.
From the home page, visitors can choose a leisure centre from a drop down or a facility with one click. Events are shown in a simple diary and special offers can be clearly seen on the home page. The new logo runs across the top of the website and also as a watermark behind the main body copy. A range of icons was developed to easily identify the services and facilities offered at each of the centres.
This, together with the ability for the user to downloadable timetables, offers visitors everything they need to know to get fit and enjoy themselves with Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust.
