What did we do?
This major energy distribution network has gone from strength to strength in recent years, however we felt that the company logo wasn’t quite working as it should in certain instances. So, as part of our extensive ongoing work with Electricity North West, we had to make a few simple tweaks to the logo to increase the legibility of the brand and ensure a much better reproduction across all digital formats and sizes.
We were very careful to ensure that the brand logo remained true to its current format and styling, after all, it was doing a good job and was reflecting the ethos of the company – forward-thinking, creative and customer-focused.
So we got started on the logo refresh and it wasn’t too long before we were able to make a few simple adjustments and tweaks to make it work online at the very smallest sizes.
What did we achieve?
One of the key branding challenges for us was to make sure that the brand achieved total brand consistency across all digital channels. Often when a company chooses to use a modern typeface within their brands logo, this can create a number of unseen challenges that are often undiscovered until the brand has been launched.
By taking the existing brand logo, making some very subtle improvements and changes, (both typographic and visually) and presenting back a visually improved Electricity North West brand we achieved a more balanced reproduction across all digital channels. We did this without sacrificing any of the great values or ethos of the business.
The new brand logo paints a far more accurate picture of the real Electricity North West and, most importantly, the brand is now underpinned by a solid set of brand guidelines that all of the staff can believe in.
