Pay per Click Advertising (PPC) is a method of advertising on the web where you only pay each time your ad is clicked on. In the case of major search engines such as Google, one would bid (enter what you’re prepared to pay for a keyword) and then, dependant on competition, this will determine your position within the sponsored advertising space. The sponsored links are usually those featured at the right hand of the search engine screen and sometimes at the top. The rest are natural/organic listings and featuring in these is considered within the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) section.
In the short term, the key question is whether the cost per acquiring a customer through a Pay per Click campaign justifies the amount spent to convert that customer.
