Manchester United Official 2010 Calendar Design

Out with the old and in with the new, as the 2009/10 season kicks off. And there are some changes to the Manchester United team line up. Ronaldo leaves for Real Madrid, whilst the Reds welcome Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia to Old Trafford.

A new style for the calendar too. The inner pages had to reflect the new kit, so we introduced dynamic angles in to the design.

Manchester United Official 2010 Football Planner Design

The Family Organiser took a new name - the Manchester United 2010 Football Planner - and a new format.

This year we produced a 30pp A4 landscape calendar. Each page included 2 weeks of dates, with 5 blank columns for family members. We sourced all shots of players, which required trimming out, retouching and colour correcting.

Due to the overwhelming success of the Manchester United 2009 Desk Calendar, Pixel8 were once again asked to design the Manchester United 2010 Desk Calendar.

The Desk Calendar comes on a ring bound easel, which looks great and stands proud on any United fan's desk.

The Manchester United Pocket Diary is a firm favourite with Reds fans.

The Pocket Diary is a 60 page diary with a glossy hardback cover. It has a weekly format which makes planning your weeks schedule easy.

To mark the 40th anniversary of Manchester United's European Cup triumph, Pixel8 designed and sent an e-mail invitation to all corporate members. An exclusive event, invitees could RSVP at the click of the mouse, helping Manchester United to plan well in advance for the event which was held at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Official 2009 Pocket Diary Design

The Pocket Diary had now become a well established design template. There were subtle changes to the design, which included a new watermark background shot.

But the diary still gave fans the chance to recapture the success of the 2007/08 season through action shots and captions.

The Manchester United 2008 Pocket Diary had a change of design format this year.

The Manchester United Pocket Diary now included official match photos along with captions, but maintained the usual extras such as yearly planner, notes section, and address pages.

The Manchester United Pocket Diary is ideal for any Reds fan who has a busy schedule.

The 'Most Wanted' concept was carried out through the whole of the Manchester United 2007 calendar range. We designed a six page template for each United player, which included cutouts, action shots, player career history and stats.

So, a third successive season for Manchester United, and a third successful year for our graphic design team, as we once again produced the official Manchester United Calendar range!

Manchester United updated their brand guide as a direct result of winning the Champions League. The main change was that the overall look had to predominantly feature the Manchester United red, to reflect their dominance of Europe.

Manchester United continued their winning ways for the 2007/08 season, taking not only the Premier League title for a second successive season, but also winning the Champions League!

As with previous years, we sourced all imagery, which also involved retouching, and creating a design that would stand out from the rest, using fonts and colours included in Manchester United's brand guide.

For the Manchester United 2007 Calendar range, we created the concept of 'Most Wanted', which used design elements relating to the Wild West, such as a sheriff badge icon, a 'wanted' price tag, and Wild West style typefaces.

The Reds certainly became the 'Most Wanted' players that season by winning the 2006/07 Barclays Premier League title.

Manchester United celebrated winning the Premier League once again!

Shots of the squad celebrating were used throughout the calendar block, but this year fans were tested on their knowledge of fixtures from the 2007/08 season.

The trivia continued in the Manchester United 2008 official calendar range, as fans once again tested their knowledge of the Reds.

We created the inner template, and artwork for the box packaging. Once printed, the pages are attached to and easel which stands on the desk.

This was the first year the Manchester United Calendar Block was introduced as part of the 2007 'Most Wanted' range.

The 314 page block featured a question about the Reds, whilst the weekend pages included trivia about the club.

The Manchester United Family Organiser was succeeded with the stylish Manchester United Desk Calendar.

We designed a simple template, which featured an action shot with brief description of a match, as well as monthly dates and notable dates.

For the Manchester United 2008 calendar range, Danilo introduced a new title to the range - the Family Organiser.

This was a monthly calendar, which adopted a new size format. For each month there was an action shot from a Manchester United fixture and 5 columns, one for each family member, to write in useful notes.

The Manchester United 2007 Desk Diary was one of the big jobs in the 'Most Wanted' range. It consisted of 94 pages and a hardback cover.

Each squad member had 6 pages dedicated to them, which included a biography, career history and vital stats. This was printed full colour and then ring-bound.

Manchester United Brand Guide

Traditionally, Manchester United had to send a paper based brand guide to partners and agencies worldwide. Pixel8 designed and developed an online brand guide. This enables partners to access information relevant to their requirements for the brand, anywhere, worldwide. Internally, content can be updated using an intuitive content management system, resulting in the guide always being relevant and up to date.

Manchester United Soccer Schools Mailer

We presented the initial concepts for a direct mail campaign for the Manchester United Soccer Schools 2008.

The ‘Handle With Care’ concept is all about nurturing the youngster and finding the next generation of 'shooting star' talent. Our design aim was to take it back to the streets, where some of the Manchester United greats were discovered.
This design was just the ticket for them.

Within the corporate area, Pixel8 were invited to design a promotional DVD promoting upcoming events. This was set on a constant circle ensuring that the 1000's of fans that past were left in no doubt about the corporate services on offer. Built in Flash, this could also be saved onto DVD's and memory cards for distribution to potential future clients.

Following on from the success of producing the Manchester United calendar range over the years, Pixel8 were asked to produce the Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney's first official calendar.

George Best Official Calendar

We were very privileged to be approached by the representatives of the late George Best. They asked us to design a commemorative calendar celebrating his life and footballing genius. We hope we did him proud!

Manchester United Hospitality Brochure

The brochure for the new Manchester United Hospitality Suite was designed in conjunction with the demonstration DVD and advertised the new corporate hospitality suite and its host of features. The design was created for print and featured a red foil block.

Challenged with creating a brand that would appeal to young children, we created Fred The Red. To reinforce this sub brand, an iconic figure was created together with a range of packaging to suit all product sizes and shapes.

This together with a crest and signature range complete's the whole merchandising range.
