The Original Bowling Company Hollywood Diner Menu
The Original Bowling Company is the largest ten-pin bowling operator in the UK, accounting for a third of the market. The company has undergone substantial growth in the last few years through the acquisition of AMF Bowl, Hollywood Bowl and Bowlplex companies.
TOBC have invested millions of pounds in the last few years refurbishing and rebranding the Hollywood Bowl centres within their estate. Part of that refurbishment programme included a new F&B offering centred around the Hollywood Diner proposition. This proposition was pivotal to the success of the rebrand as F&B accounts for 28% of total revenues.
TOBC approach Pixel8 to help create a new menu design that would communicate the new Hollywood Diner proposition and encourage centre visitors to eat in their establishment.
Together with TOBC we needed to develop a menu look and feel that worked with the rebranded in centre environment of ‘Hollywood Glamour’.
We also needed to create a new suite of F&B photography that correctly promoted the enhanced offering and gave a premium, fresh feel to the food to distance it from the negative perceptions of old.
The new menu design featured classic Americana design detailing to really capture the Hollywood look and feel.
We directed photographer, Charles Ward, to ensure images were styled to look retro in keeping with the centre environment, but also to showcase the better quality offering. The result is a great selling piece for the diner that immediately shows customers that they F&B offering is on par with alternative rivals.
