Congratulations to our friends at IHG on their Manchester expansion
We want to congratulate IHG on their announcement that they are to build a 210 room Crowne Plaza hotel and a 116 room Stalybridge Suites property in our city centre on Oxford Road.
We’ve worked nationally and internationally with IHG for almost 5 years and have developed a great relationship with the company. We’re thrilled that they are investing further in Manchester and are expanding their brand in local territory. Our global refresh of the Crowne Plaza brand took place in 2012-2013 and we continue to provide design services to IHG and their portfolio of clients.
Crowne Plaza is one of the fastest growing hotel brands in the world with nearly 400 hotels in more than 60 countries worldwide.
The new Crowne Plaza hotel will be the city’s third and takes the IHG portfolio tally to a grand total of 21 hotels in Manchester. IHG bosses have said that anticipate that visitors to the Manchester Business School, the Universities and long-stay corporate business clients, will be the hotels’ main clientele, in part due to its planned proximity to Manchester city centre.
Here at pixel8 we have years of experience of working on lots of different branding, design, marketing and digital projects for hotels locally, nationally and internationally (and we’ve won awards for it!); so we’re thrilled, of course, that our city’s hotel industry is booming. The building and opening of these two major hotels goes hand in hand with the imminent April opening of Hotel Gotham, the five star luxury hotel in the city centre landmark that is the former Midland Bank headquarters. Exciting times for hoteliers in Manchester.
So, once again, congrats to the team IHG and long live the Manchester hotel industry!
